The Great BodyBy Alicia Jackman
It functions without us knowing. It has so many different things going on with it at a time, we don't think about it happening. The body does tasks on its own without you thinking about trying to have your body do them. It's as easy as blinking. Keeping the body healthy is something required for you to do to keep your systems running correctly and keep from getting sick or diseases. Eating the right things, like fruit, veggies, and good lean meant. Staying active and keeping your body busy helps keep your organs going.

The Digestive System
The Digestive System has the mouth, alimentary canal, liver, stomach, gall bladder, small intestines, kidney and the bladder. Then comes out your penis. This system cleans out waste in the body and get's rid of it. The mouth chews the food which is where it starts. It goes down the alimentary canal which goes down to the stomach. The stomach is a muscle that breaks down food and sends it out the small intestines. Once it gets to there, it goes through the blatter and out the body. The reason we have this system is to keep out the bad and clean our system. There are diseases such as kidney failure, which can occur for multipul reasons, like hypovolemia, dehydration, poor intake of fluids, some medication, and abnormal blood flow.

The Respiratory System
The respiratory system is all about your breathing. How you breathe is a rhythmic beat your body follows upon your hearts beats. The main function is for the lungs to supply blood with oxygen to send it out and around to all the body parts. When we breath, we exchange carbon dioxide with oxygen. The parts of the respiratory system are the mouth, nose, lungs, trachea and diaphragm. The oxygen goes through the mouth and/or nose and goes to the trachea. Then, that leads to the lungs which is where the oxygen goes into air filled spongy sacs that are surrounded by capillaries. Rich blood releases the carbon dioxide into a tiny sac called the alveoli which follows the same way as the oxygen except going the opposite way and goes out when we exhale air. The diaphragm just pumps carbon dioxide out of the lungs. A few problems you can have with your respiratory system is you might have Asthma, Bronchitis, Hay Fever, and a lot more. There are many causes for why people have respiratory disorders and diseases so there isn't always a reason. Some times, it's caused by genetics.

The Circulatory System
The Circulatory System is all about the blood. We have about 5-6 liters of blood in our bodies that constantly go throughout the body. This system involves the heart, lungs, and blood vessels. The heart pumps the blood throughout the chambers of oxygen rich and poor blood. The oxygen rich blood gets sent all around the body to give each organ oxygen, when the blood comes back to the heart it is oxygen poor and gets sent to the lungs to pick up oxygen and do it all over again. There are many types of blood such as A+, A-, AB+, AB-, B+, B-, O+, and O-. O- is the blood type that can help anyone. Disease's you can get are Peripheral Artery Disease, Aneurysm, Renal Artery Diseas and a lot more.

The Nervous System
The Nervous System is split between two main systems. The central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system. The CNS is made up of the spinal cord and brain. The main job of them is to get the information from the brain to the body, like when you put your hand on a hot stove, your nevous systems send an electric message saying "hey its hot" to your brain and right back which gives you the reaction to pull away. It's like a network with nerves and they do work to let you know when to do things. Your brain uses the information it gets from the nerves to control or coordinate all of your bodies reactions and actions. Disorders and disease's you could get with your nervous system would be a stroke which causes some nerves to not work as fast or at all. Epilepsy, Brain tumors, head trauma and more.

The Muscular System
The Muscular System is what gives the body the power to move. The body has 640 muscles.. which is 40% of the body. The way the body moves is through the muscles. The cells in the muscle contract when we use them and relax when they aren't being used. Most muscles just work on their on, others are called voluntary which is where they work when you want them to. There are three types of muscles such as, skeletal, smooth and cardiac. Skeletal muscles are known as the voluntary muscles and are the ones that produce movement. Each skeletal muscle fiber is roughly cylindrical. Smooth muscles, or visceral's form the muscle layer in the walls of the digestive tract, bladder, various ducts, arteries, veins and other internal organs. Cardiac (heart) muscle is a dross between the smooth and skeletal muscles. Diseases and disorders you can get are Myopathies, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, and a lot more.

The Skeletal System
The skeletal System is all of the bones in the body and this tissue (like tendons, ligaments and cartilage that connects them together) which helps support, protect and move us. It's what keeps out skin, organs and muscles from just falling and making us look like spaghetti. Also, the skeletal system is what keeps a lot of our organs safe. The heart and brain is surrounded by bones to keep protected. Your spine gives your structure. When we are born we have over 300 bones, but as we grow our bones grow and fuse together which give us 206 bones when we finish growing. A few diseases and disorders are Leukemia, Bursitis, Osteoporosis, Sprains and Fractures.
